I apologize if this isn't the place to be asking for general advice, but I noitced many of you seem pretty knowledgeable with this subject. If someone could redirect me if this shouldn't be here, that would be great.
So im going to start this by saying im not the most tech savvy person, if anything just an average Joe. The jits of my problem is my parents (older folks, less tech savvy than even I) clicked on Amazon's ad link on the top of Google instead of the actual link and it redirected them to a windows omegle defender spoof site saying they were infected, pop ups and such.
They quickly exited it and didn't click on anything within the site, however that Amazon ad link consistently redirects to this site only once when the computer is rebooted. Afterwards it redirects to Amazon like normal date. When testing it.
My question is, do I need to be concerned about dns poisoning or spoofing. And if so what is the best way to address it. We also have other computers and devices on the router / wifi, do I need to be worried about them as well? Virus scans shown up clear and no threats found. I also flushed the dns and caches on everything connected to the internet.
