We've ordered Fiber for the business on the 17th of last month because the internet service was never great (1mb on a good day) and since they've upgraded the lines it has been even less than that and barely usable. Along side BT internet we also had Satelite Internet which was a life saver (all be it really, really expensive) but as the contract ran out last month and we found out that we can get fiber to the property by the 3rd of may we decided to go for fiber.
Being a business and ordering the top business packge youd think it would be dealt with pretty quick.
The date of completion was 3rd of May and after getting in touch with BT this morning it is now the 31st of May. This is a whole month and a half of waiting. Were now stuck with little to no internet with deadlines to meet. And unfortunetly its not a case of popping to the neighbour to use the internet either.
Heres the Message I had from online chat:
"Chris, for the FTTP order, there is loads of external work which is required to be done in order to provide you services and this something which all service providers would take time to provide you the services as Open reach is same for you.
In your case there was some issue with external work as I have checked with engineering team.
Our offline team will call and update you for this one on Monday so that you need not bother to contacts us".
Dont get me wrong I know there will be work needed to be done, but why leave it with no contact and no updates.
I had to wait take an unpaid day off yesterday for an engineer to turn up (which obviously they didnt). Ok if it was raining yesterday i wouldnt have minded as much but when the suns out at this time of year the silage needs to be done.
Now the amusing thing is that there has been no one out to check this as the line goes over our fields and to get to it they have to get into the field behind the house!!!
After reading some other posts I found im not alone and this has happened to several people, and its ongoing with them. Is this going to be the case for us too. If so can you provide a letter saying it cannot be done so I can get a grant for free internet from the Welsh government.
